Scientific Research

When developing a Complement, we start our research by investigating which pathways and processes disconnect due to stress and lifestyle choices. After we have determined which pathways and processes we want to reactivate and synchronize, we start looking for ingredients we can use and test.

Clinical Review

In Phase I our research and development (R&D) team conducts a review of clinical studies for each ingredient being considered for a Complement.

Safety Review

Our R&D team reviews information on safety, side effects, and any potential interactions for each ingredient being considered. After this they choose which ingredients to take for Quality and Alpha testing rounds.   

Quality and Alpha Testing

Each individual ingredient is quality tested and goes through several rounds of Alpha testing. Each ingredient is checked for contaminants and assessed on performance according to scientific literature, including safety and side effects.

If we’re not satisfied with the results we see, we go back to the drawing board and replace the ingredient with a new one or a specific component of an ingredient. When we’re happy with the result we move forward to Phase II.

Complements Formulation

Complements consist of ingredients that have been intentionally chosen for their combined effect to make your internal pathways and processes work optimally. 

In Phase II our R&D team reviews existing clinical literature on synergistic effects between ingredients and internal pathways and processes. Several Complements formulations are developed for Phase III testing. If we’re not satisfied with what we learn in Phase II development, we go back to the drawing board and do Phase I and Phase II again. Only when we think a Complement is ready for testing, we move forward to Phase III.

Complements Alpha Testing

In Phase III we start by Alpha testing all our Complements in-house so that we can determine the effects firsthand. We think this step is necessary, as this gives us the opportunity to evaluate that the Complement works as intended. Each member of our R&D team tries each formulation and iteration of it. At least one member of the team continues testing the Complement long-term (for up to 6 months), evaluating the effects from day to day.

If we’re not satisfied with the outcome in Phase III testing, we go back to the drawing board and do Phase I-III again with new ingredients and testing. When we’re happy with the result we move forward to external Beta testing.

Complements Beta Testing

We blind test each Complement formulation with a group of beta testers to get feedback so that we can refine the final formulation. If we’re happy with the outcome we move forward.

If we’re not satisfied with the outcome, we go back to the drawing board and do Phase I-III again with new ingredients and testing. When we’re happy with the result we move forward.

Third-Party Quality Testing

Before we are ready to put our name on our Complement and present it to you, we complete a final round of testing for safety conducted by a Third-Party Lab.
Each batch of Complements undergoes third-party safety testing for, e.g., heavy metals and bacterial contamination.

Complement Release and Follow-Up

After the Complement has gone through Alfa-, Beta- and Third-Party Lab testing for safety, the Complement is ready to be released in Phase IV. 

All COMEBACK Complements^® are manufactured in FDA registered and GMP approved facilities.

After the Complement has been released, we follow up with consumers to understand effects that can be considered for future refinements of the Complement.
