Deepak Chopra, the Indian-born American author and alternative medicine advocate has become renowned for his integrated approach of western science and eastern spirituality. He believes that whatever happens in the mind and brain is physically affecting the body and considers everything in this world a reflection of what is going on inside of us.
Living in a world of nearly infinite possibilities can lead to overwhelm and confusion. It’s easy to overthink and overact. And the more you step into possibilities and out of your comfort zone, the more your outside world may feel like chaos. The noise of others and our own expectations leave little space to listen deep within and the confusion inside mirrors the confusion outside. But change and movement always come with an opportunity for growth and transformation.
“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.” - Deepak Chopra
Even if the world seems full of choice and opportunities, it can make you feel like you’re missing out. Someone else is always ahead, better or more experienced. As you start placing beliefs and expectation on you that aren’t yours and that you are not meant to fulfil, you may question if you’re on the right path.
But while the world moves and changes around you, you always have the choice to return into the stillness at your center. It’s available for you anywhere and at any time. Just for a moment, back off the situation completely. Then, as you remove yourself from the noise of the outside world, your inner voice becomes clearer.
Breathe deeply and feel into what is present – right now in this moment. When the noise of the outside world dissipates and the chatter of the mind calms down, you can listen to the voice of your deep inner knowing. It’s within you that you will find all the answers. Seek your stillness and let them arise.
